Pha That Luang

Gold on blue is an easy sell, and I've been touring Vientiane under blazing sun without a cloud in sight. My point of reference is Bangkok, and it isn't that hot or that humid, so I'm okay.

Pha That Luang appears on the National Seal of Laos, and is possibly the country's most important monument. It was originally built in the mid-16th century, but like so many things in Laos we aren't looking at the original here: this is an accurate reconstruction from the early 1930s.
