Bayon was one of my favourite temples around Angkor - certainly more so than Angkor Wat, maybe tied with Banteay Srei with its incredibly intricate (and still intact) carvings. Bayon has 216 of these faces, all smiling enigmatically down at you. They are said to be a cross between the Buddha and the ruling emperor at the time, Jayavarman VII.
